Logistics Team Leader - Ramallah or Jerusalem
The Logistics Team Leader in NRC will lead a designated logistics area, ensuring the effective execution of procurement, fleet management, distribution, and asset-related activities. Additionally, the Logistics Team Leader will play a key role in coordinating and implementing logistics strategies that align with and support NRC’s overall mission and operations. Generic Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, SOP’s and donor requirements
- Ensure that local SOP’s regulate procedures at field office level, and perform periodic checks
- Coordinate market assessment within the scope and request of programme teams
- Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings related to logistic
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of all logistics services, ensuring they meet project needs in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Encourage a high-performing team environment through training, capacity building, and performance management.
- Overall responsibility for drivers planning, working together with the Logistics Officer to explore and implement ways to better plan, schedule and monitor transport of staff and material.
- Ensuring that drivers carry out weekly vehicle checks and share the necessary information with the Logistics Coordinator/Office.
- Work closely with program teams, other departments, and external partners to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of logistics services with overall project goals.
- Take full responsibility for the management of NRC PS assets and fleet in NRC offices in West Bank and Jerusalem, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and maintenance in compliance with policies.
- Ensure compliance with formalized logistics policies and procedures, maintaining documentation aligned with both NRC Global guidelines and donor requirements.
Generic Professional Competencies:
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or procurement management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally in humanitarian or development settings.
Strong knowledge of logistics operations, procurement processes, asset management, and fleet management.
Managing resources to optimize results.
Fluency in English and Arabic.
Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
University degree in Supply Chain or a relevant subject.
Knowledge and experience of main donors’ logistics policies.
Knowledge of Logistics Management in the Middle East, particularly Palestine and Israel.
Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development, motivation, and performance.
Strong understanding of INGO policies, donor regulations, and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of Hebrew is an advantage.
