Communication Officer

Role Overview:

The Communication Officer develops and executes communication strategies to promote Filmlab’s mission and programs. Key tasks include managing internal and external communications, creating content (press releases, newsletters, social media posts), and maintaining relationships with media and stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, engaging content that effectively communicates the goals and impact of the organization’s programs and projects.
  • Craft compelling, audience-specific messages for social media, press releases, blogs, and other communication channels.
  • Publish and manage media content related to programs and projects across the organization’s digital platforms to ensure consistent visibility and engagement.
  • Communicate with the beneficiaries of the organization’s programs and projects, providing updates and responding to inquiries as needed.
  • Coordinate with external service providers, including graphic designers, translators, editors, photographers, video producers, web developers, and press contacts, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Monitor and respond to social media interactions, fostering positive relationships with followers and engaging with online communities to promote brand loyalty.
  • Compile and prepare regular reports, analyzing performance, content impact, and engagement metrics.

Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, media relations, or public relations. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating a range of communication materials (press releases, articles, social media posts). Proficiency in using social media platforms, content management systems, and digital marketing tools. Proficiency in content creation tools and ability to create high-quality multimedia content Experience with graphic design software and video editing tools is advantageous. Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and verbal). Strong familiarity with the cultural landscape in Palestine (mainly the cinematic)and the broader Arab region.
