2. Context
Relief International (RI) is an international non-profit organization that partners with communities impacted by conflict, climate change and disaster to save lives, build greater resilience and promote long-term health and wellbeing.
Our team of more than 7,000 staff and local volunteers work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, providing Health and Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Education and Livelihoods programming that creates the foundation for community resilience.
We do this by working with local actors to develop safe and inclusive local programming that is evidence based, conflict sensitive, climate smart, and reaches those in need.

3. Job Profile
Under the management of the Deputy Project Manager, the Center Supervisor – Transitional Shelter will be responsible for overall management of the shelter, including risk mitigation, fostering a welcoming and protective environment, scheduling of activities, and coordination with external stakeholders and members of the community.
4. Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks
- Ensure the Shelter is kept up to minimum standards for receiving beneficiaries.
- Work closely with Security team and Area management to ensure safety, security and mitigate risk to staff, beneficiaries and property.
- Directly supervise team at the center in close coordination with the Protection Officer who will be ensuring technical support, ensuring to build a collaborative team spirit that works well together and collectively addresses difficult challenges as they arise.
- Coordinate closely with project implementing partner.
- Ensure that external referral mapping is up-to-date and well-used.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders at community level, including but not limited to other NGOs and service providers and members of the community in leadership role; this will build acceptance with the community.
- Ensure visibility requirements of the center (donor and Relief International) are respected.
- Ensure data collection and monitoring is completed in accordance with established procedures.
- Uphold the principle of confidentiality, ensuring that no information related to beneficiaries is disclosed without proper authorization.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
