Estimation Engineer

  • Prepare comprehensive project estimates including labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing for ship repair works.
  • Analyze bid requests and develop itemized lists of required tasks based on technical documentation and client requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to formulate Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Prepare and submit detailed proposals, submittals, and bid summary sheets.
  • Collaborate with project teams and communicate special requirements to relevant departments and client representatives.
  • Monitor and update project costs, maintaining control over budget and schedule deviations.
  • Conduct negotiations and technical discussions with both domestic and international clients.
  • Work in various environments, including offices, shipyards, and onboard vessels, adhering to all safety protocols.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating ship repair or marine engineering projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipboard machinery and systems including:


  1. Boilers, Economizers, Condensers, Inert Gas Generators (IGG), Incinerators
  2. Pumps, valves, piping systems, and associated marine construction materials


  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a meticulous approach to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering sketches.
  • Skilled in project cost tracking and scheduling.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and ability to work in demanding environments including shipyards and vessel interiors.
