General objective of the Job:
The purpose of this position is to support the Project Manager in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project, in alignment with the approved project design, budget, donor regulations and requirements, and War child policies, procedures, and technical quality standards. This project contributes to the resilience of the conflict-affected children & adults through providing access to effective and quality services, in response to protection needs in the West Bank and Gaza. This Project is a consortium of War Child Alliance aiming to collaborate to address the protection risks of children and their caregivers, women and girl GBV survivors, as well as those living with a disability in underserved communities
Essential functional relations: MEAL Unit, in-country CP and MHPSS advisor, Operations Department mainly the Finance Officer, Procurement and Logistics Officer, WCH Project Implementing Partner/s in West Bank and Gaza.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Project management and implementation:
- Support in Representing the project in different coordination and reflection meetings with the project implementing partners.
- Support the overall coordination and implementation of the projects, including risk assessment and management, and lead the coordination between partners daily.
- Identify and prioritize programmatic needs and ensure that the project/s addresses those needs.
- Ensures compliance with donor and War Child rules and regulations in all areas including financial management, record keeping, and procurement, in coordination with the Operations Department.
- Ensures appropriate programme quality standards are used in the design and implementation of the project/s.
- Liaise with the MEAL staff to facilitate systematic program monitoring and evaluation are in place and ensure that lessons learned are documented and shared for learning. Provides feedback to the HoP and partners to determine programmatic changes in response to the results of monitoring and evaluation.
- Collects and consolidates narrative reports.
- Conducts site visits to monitor progress and provide capacity support to partners as needed.
- Undertakes other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Project manager and the emergency Program Manager.
- Ensure child protection and conflict sensitivity are integrated into all our emergency response planning, learning, and proposal development.
- Any other assignments requested by the line manager.
- Networking/coordination/representation/strategic influencing
- Proactively develops, coordinates, and maintains productive relationships with project stakeholders, in coordination with the Project manager.
- Ensures proactive coordination in the field to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication and fragmentation.
- Identifies strategic programme opportunities, approaches, and modalities for strengthening the PSS, Protection, and education programming, in close collaboration with the partners and the Head of Programs.
- Ensures the visibility of the project and activities with relevant national and international audiences.
Relevant academic degree in Business, Project Management, Education, Social Sciences, or related fields.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably within an NGO or INGO.
Demonstrated expertise in project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Experience managing projects focused on protection, psychosocial support, or community-based programming.
Proven ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and donors.
Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in data collection, integration, and reporting.
Experience with community-based programming is preferred.
Good understanding of the Palestinian context
Have a valid driving license.
Excellent English written and spoken required. Arabic written and spoken fluency.
The position requires the ability and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically to different project sites in the northern, central, and southern parts of the West Bank.
