Projects Officer Vacancy

The Ministry of Health (MoH) / World Bank Projects Management Unit (PMU) is seeking to hire a full-time Projects Officer to provide the support needed for the successful implementation of technical engagement and project activities.

Tasks/Activities

  1. Administrative Assistance
  • Organize and maintain all project documentation, including correspondence, contracts, reports, and records, ensuring they are readily accessible.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and ensuring follow-up on action items.
  • Manage communication and correspondence between the PMU team and stakeholders, including MoH departments, World Bank representatives, and external partners.
  • Handle logistics for workshops, trainings, venue bookings, and materials preparation.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, reports, presentations, and other required project materials.
  • Support the PMU Coordinator in organizing team activities, maintaining a calendar of key events, and tracking deliverables.
  • Support the PMU team in executing key technical, procurement, financial management, environmental and social functions.
  • Any other tasks requested by the PMU Coordinator.
  1. Coordination and Follow-Up
  • Work closely with the PMU team to ensure the alignment of activities with project objectives and timelines.
  • Follow up and Facilitate coordination among PMU members, external stakeholders, and MoH departments, including but not limited to supporting translations, collection and collation of data, follow-ups for meeting organization and logistics, and other tasks to enable successful implementation of technical engagement and project activities.
  1. Support to the PMU Team
  • Assist team members, including the Health Specialist, Procurement Specialist, Financial Specialist, and Environmental Specialist, in their respective tasks.
  • Support coordination efforts among PMU team members to ensure integrated project implementation.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to facilitate the effective functioning of the PMU team.

Contracting Arrangements and Timeframe

MoH will sign a time-based contract with the Projects Officer. The duration of the assignment is one year on full-time basis extendable to the full length of the project subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and needs of the PMU.


Required Qualifications and Skills Education Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Experience At least 2 years of experience in administrative, procurement, or financial roles, preferably in international development projects or with World Bank-funded projects and preferably in the health sector. Technical Skills Strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools. Language Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written). The Ministry of Health now invites eligible candidates to indicate their interest in providing the Services.
