Chemonics International seeks an Export and Competitiveness Advisor (Northern WB) for the USAID-funded Trade, Investment, and Finance Activity in the West Bank and Gaza. The project seeks to drive transformative impacts for the Palestinian sector through increased trade and exports and position the Palestinian economy for growth. The Export and Competitiveness Advisor (Northern WB) will support the technical engagement of Component 1 program activities. The Export and Competitiveness Advisor will also be the primary point of coordination for private partnerships and stakeholder engagement in the North region of the West Bank. The Advisor will forge partnerships with the private sector to develop a pipeline of companies which TIFA can engage and assist to achieve its export targets.
This position will be based in Northen West Bank with frequent trips to the Ramallah .
Responsibilities Export and Competitiveness Advisor (North) key responsibilities includes, though are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as main focal point for technical engagements and implementation of the export and competitiveness interventions in the Northern West Bank
- Initiate and cultivate relationships with partners in target market segments. Introduce, illuminate, and engage them on relevant opportunities
- Oversee TIFA initiatives to provide needed technical assistance to companies in the Northern West Bank. This includes close collaboration with TIFA’s procurement, HR, and partnerships teams to identify and engage consultants or service providers.
- Conduct market research to identify potential markets with demand for Palestinian products from the Northern region of the West Bank, and analyze the regulatory requirements needed to access them
- Develop targeted campaigns and activities to promote Palestinian products from the northern region of the West Bank in identified markets and promote business-to-business (B2B) connections
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in agronomist, food processing, economics, business, trade, or another relevant field is required. An advanced degree is preferred
At least five years of experience in economic resilience and stability and trade promotion in the West Bank/Gaza. Strong preference for individuals that have worked directly in the private sector preferably in agriculture and food processing
Demonstrated understanding of international trade standards
Experience utilizing E-commerce and digital platforms
Experience in managing private sector engagement in the West Bank/Gaza
Demonstrated experience advancing equitable, inclusive, and accessible programming that engages a diverse range of stakeholders is required
Understanding of country context and key stakeholders is required
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills in English required. Arabic fluency required.
