We are seeking a skilled and experienced A/C Technician to join our maintenance team. Under the guidance of the A/C Engineer and Heat, Light and Power Supervisor operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the hotel’s refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, in accordance with IHG / Intercontinental Jordan Hotel standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency at all times
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Repairs and maintenance of all types of refrigeration equipment such as centrifugal chillers, air-cooled chillers, walk in cold-room and freezer rooms and other commercial/industrial refrigeration equipment.
- Repairs and maintenance of air conditioning equipment such as window units, package units and fan coil units.
- Carries out electric arc or oxyacetylene welding.
- Carries out air-conditioning and refrigeration preventive and routine maintenance. Attends to repairs and maintenance of refrigeration equipment electrical control system.
- Attends to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
- Operate and report the status of chilled/Heating network pumps
- Responding to a guest maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.
- Ensures that the plant rooms, workshops and related areas are kept clean and tidy condition.
- Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
- Responsible for assisting other colleagues in emergencies and for carrying out other duties or performing special projects as may be required by the Cluster Director of Engineering or Delegate and according to the department needs.
- Ensure that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guestroom or public areas.
- Interacts/cooperates with Engineering team and other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
- Interacts/cooperates with hotel guests/outside contractors as directed.
What We Need From You
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in HVAC or relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an A/C Technician or in similar role (hotel experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evening, weekends and holidays.
