Responsibilities

1. The primary role of the faculty members at the College of Computing and IT is to promote high-quality innovative teaching, applied research, and services.
2. Collaborate with the Head of Department, Dean, and colleagues to achieve the college's mission.
3. Mentor junior colleagues and teaching assistants.
4. Support the department and the college with administrative and academic services.
5. Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses within Software Engineering.
6. Liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area.
7. Keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans.
8. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the university and beyond.

Skills

For Assistant Professor

1. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training or industry training environment, along with preferably 3 years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
2. A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high quality publications in top tier journals.
3. Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.

For Associate Professor

1. A minimum of 8 years teaching experience in a post-secondary, adult training or industry training environment, along with preferably 3 years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within the relevant discipline.
2. A distinguished research record and international reputation evidenced by high quality publications in top tier journals.
