The ICRC Mission in Jerusalem, is seeking qualified and motivated candidate to fill in the following position:
Procurement Assistant 1
Place of Employment : Jerusalem
Contract duration : Open-ended (including 3 months’ probationary period)

Starting Date : February 2025
Main Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Buyer 2 in Jerusalem the Procurement Assistant 1 is responsible to assist the procurement team function smoothly in line with the ICRC's and the delegation's policies and the applicable laws and regulations.
The Procurement Assistant
Draws up monthly expenditure forecasts and resolves transactional problems with financial services and suppliers.
Compiles and reconciles suppliers' invoices against purchasing documentation and processes for payment following rules and procedures.
Ensures that purchase order files are kept up-to-date and ready for audits.
Initiates supply requests or requisitions.
Ensures that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned to his/her role as described in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix
Conduct market survey and suppliers sourcing for the unit’s needs
Visits suppliers’/ companies and complete the supplier’s quality assessment (QHSE) form.
Creates, maintains and updates the supplier and product files and databases regularly.
In contact with suppliers for tenders’ reception and submission and related matters.
Support the purchasers with minor purchases and administrative issues including Purchase Orders (PO) creations.
Provides and collects information for statistics.
Ensures proper treatment and filing and archiving of all relevant documents.
Replaces other purchasers during their absence.
Sorts out the quality claims before validating supplier’s invoices.

Education & professional experience:
A degree in Accounting, Procurement or Business Administration.
Fluent Arabic and Good command of English, Hebrew is an asset.
At Least 4 years' experience in a similar position.
Computer proficiency and good command in Word, Excel and PowerPoint software and ERP Software.
Other requirements:
Good Communication & Analytical skills
Valid and clean Israeli driving license
Knowledge of the procure-to-pay (P2P) process or enterprise resource planning software an asset
Registers and treats information (general and specific) accurately and with confidentially.
