Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team.
The successful candidate will develop and implement MAP’s advocacy strategies, focusing on Gaza, to address barriers to Palestinians’ health, dignity, and justice. They will represent MAP in high-level meetings, build advocacy networks, and support partners with training and strategy development. Key responsibilities include conducting research on health and human rights issues, producing reports, organizing advocacy events, and monitoring trends. The candidate will ensure community voices are heard, evaluate advocacy impact, and align efforts with MAP’s priorities and community needs.
We are looking for someone with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, preferably with qualifications in fields like International Law or Human Rights. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in local and international advocacy, knowledge of research methodologies, and expertise in the political and humanitarian context of Palestine, Lebanon, and the Middle East.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate fluency in English and Arabic, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to navigate diplomatic and policymaking environments. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment are essential, along with experience producing high-quality advocacy outputs and leveraging social and traditional media for advocacy.
